I use a lot of tools to wrangle a lot of code/data every day and

since I told them about them.

BareGrep allows me to quickly sort exactly the data I need
from mountains of text files.
When I need to tackle a difficult data extraction problem,
I almost always end up clicking on the BareGrep icon.
If BareGrep was available, I would marry BareGrep and have children with it.
(Well, not really but it is an amazingly useful tool.)

I'm locked into a Windows development platform and production is Solaris.
All the others I tried were either too slow or Blue Screened my laptop.

BareGrep is a godsend to us poor Unix/Linux users who have to work in Windoze.
I mean having to use Windoze's Search function only allows you to look for a string
in a a file - no regular expressions!
And of course it's free. What great guys! ;)

How do you write software that is as fast as this?
BareGrep is unbelievable - are you caching stuff?
I am a novice programmer and can't even start to think of
how you manage to make it so fast.
It is phenomenal. It's super-small.
... And add this - I had a 500MB+ text file that
BareTail opened in like half a second - incredible - simply incredible!
